History

MOYA was built by Crossfields of Arnside, Cumbria, in c.1896. She is a Morecambe Bay prawner, or ‘nobby’, originally operating around Fleetwood. Little is known about her earlier history, but most of her original frames and hull structure remain intact. At some point, she was fitted with an engine and a coach roof, and the deck was replaced in the late 1990s with ply and added bulwarks.

In 2025, she was purchased by her current owner, who is replacing her bowsprit and standing rigging. She is currently fitted with a Yanmar diesel engine.
